Novel Mid-infrared Gas Sensor Based on Mutually Coupled Quantum Cascade Lasers

Abstract

A gas sensor relying on mutually coupled Quantum Cascade Lasers is studied. Experiments show a six times improvement in the detectivity compared to a typical spectrometer consisting of laser, absorption cell and photodetector.
