Broadband silicon-on-insulator 2×2 power splitters using curved asymmetric waveguides

Abstract

Broadband silicon-on-insulator (SOI) 2×2 power splitters are designed based on curved asymmetric waveguide coupler sections. A 50/50 power splitter with a footprint of ~20 × 3 μm2 and ±1dB bandwidth >100 nm is designed and fabricated.
