Optofluidic Double-layer Fano Resonance Photonic Crystal Slab Liquid Sensors

Abstract

We report refractive index sensing with ultra-compact surface-normal double-layer stacked Fano resonance photonic crystal slabs. A quality factor of 6,757 and a limit of detection of 5.6×10−5 RIU were experimentally demonstrated, respectively.
