Pure Single-Sideband Modulation Using High Extinction-Ratio Parallel Mach-Zehnder Modulator with Third-Order Harmonics Superposition Technique

Abstract

We demonstrate high spurious suppression ratio single-sideband modulation by a high extinction-ratio parallel Mach-Zehnder modulator. An electrical third-order nonlinearity suppression technique can enhance the suppression ratio as high as 47 dB.
