Engineering Dispersion Relation of Photons in Vertical Cavity using High-Contrast Gratings

Abstract

We show the dispersion relation of high-contrast grating based vertical cavity can be altered by orders of magnitude by engineering the angular phase response. The results may benefit Purcell enhancement and strong coupling using the cavity.
