Superluminescent Fiber Laser Source in the Mid-Infrared via Dual-Pumping

Abstract

By dual pumping the upper and lower laser level of the 5I65I7 transition (2.9 µm) of Ho3+ we demonstrate a power-scalable fiber laser that can be modulated between continuous wave lasing and superluminesence.
