Coupled-Plasmon Induced Transparency in Planar Stacked Metal/Insulator Films

Abstract

We present a theoretical study of coherently coupled, stacked planar metal/insulator films. Our analysis shows that resonant coupling of plasmon and waveguide modes results in strongly dispersive, non-monotonic reflectance, suitable for enhanced plasmonic sensing applications.
