Crustal Deformation Measurement Using an Optical Fiber Strain Sensor

Abstract

We report an optical fiber strain sensor with ultra-high resolution, large measurement range and fast response for geophysical applications. Crustal deformation caused by ocean tide and by seismic wave was successfully recorded in field experiments.
