Semiconductor Coherent Beam Combining for Efficient, Wavelength-Selectable Laser Sources*

Abstract

We present an architecture for scaling the brightness of semiconductor laser sources, demonstrating 40 W coherently combined power in a single, diffraction-limited beam from an array of 47 single-pass optical amplifiers at 1064 nm.
