Fabrication of Highly Birefringent H-shaped Microfiber

Abstract

A novel fabrication technique of H-shaped highly birefringent (Hi-Bi) microfiber is proposed. The birefringence of fabricated H-shaped microfiber was improved by a factor of 20 higher than that of a conventional birefringent fiber.
