Plasma as an Amplifying Medium: Chirped Pulse Raman Amplification and the Transition to the Nonlinear Regime

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

A density echelon exited in plasma is a robust amplifying medium. Raman CPA in plasma is studied in both the low and high pump power regimes where gains of up to seven orders of magnitude are measured and the nonlinear regime explored.
