Microparticle Guiding and Acceleration in Optical Lattices Generated by Silicon-on-Insulator Multimode-Interference Waveguide-based Arrayed Optical Tweezers (SMART)

Abstract

We demonstrate optical guiding and acceleration of 2.2m polystyrene particles in a fluidic flow using uniform and non-uniform optical lattices generated at 1550nm wavelengths by silicon-on-insulator multimode-interference waveguide-based arrayed optical tweezers (SMART).
