Averaging of Phase Noise in NRZ-PSK Signals by Using an Optical and Electrical Feed-Forward Circuit

Abstract

We propose an optical and electrical feed-forward circuit that reduces phase noise in PSK signals by averaging the noise. A phase-fluctuating PSK signal is phase-modulated with a feed-forward signal from differential detectors and signal processing.
