Opto-Electronic Multi-Level Signal Regeneration

Abstract

A simple 3R DQPSK regenerator is demonstrated, where the input signal drives a dual-parallel Mach-Zehnder modulator after demodulation, balanced-detection and limiting amplification. Required bandwidth of the limiting amplifier is numerically examined.
