Abstract

We report our recent works on suppression of stimulated-Brillouin-scattering in high power, single frequency, linearly polarized, 1178 nm Raman fiber amplifiers and 1064 nm ytterbium-doped fiber amplifiers by applying longitudinally varied strain in the gain fibers.
