On-chip, Tunable, Narrow-Bandpass Microwave Photonic Filter Using Stimulated Brillouin Scattering (SBS)

Abstract

We report the first demonstration of a narrow-bandpass (~20MHz), on-chip, tunable, photonic filter for RF signals, using SBS in a chalcogenide waveguide. Extinction ratios of over 20dB for a frequency range of 2-12GHz were realized.
