Energy Transfer during Ultrafast Laser-matter Interactions

Abstract

We investigate energy transfer processes during ultrafast laser-matter interactions. We show that when coherent phonons are generated by ultrafast laser pulses, additional energy transfer pathways exist which can influence energy transfer and phase change.
