Proposal of two-input, phase-switched, all-optical flip flops

Abstract

We propose using two input beams to a bistable Kerr resonator for overcoming the thermal limitation to the switching speed between stable states. We theoretically demonstrate flip-flop operation by phase modulations of the inputs.
