Time-resolved spectral characterization of a pulsed external-cavity quantum cascade laser

Abstract

The time-resolved spectrum of a pulsed external-cavity QCL is obtained thanks to sum-frequency mixing with nanosecond pump pulses with a variable delay. Frequency chirps and mode hops spanning over 30 GHz are observed.
