Magnetically controlled broadband THz absorption in a multiferroic hexaferrite at room temperature

Abstract

THz time domain spectroscopy reveals the existence of a broad absorption band owing to electromagnons in a multiferroic polycrystal of Sr3Co2Fe24O41. The absorption can be controlled by weak external magnetic fields.
