Toward a picometer displacement-sensing interferometry for the next generation of calculable capacitor

Abstract

A high resolution Fabry-Perot interferometer system is designed to measure displacement by measuring both the cavity mode spacing and absolute mode position shifts. We achieve a fractional uncertainty of 2×109/Hz without any optical frequency standard.
