Direct Estimation of the Intensity Contrast of High-Energy Laser Pulses

Abstract

The focal spot of the incoherent pedestal preceding a high-energy laser pulse is predicted using the coherence properties of imaging systems, determining the on-shot intensity contrast of kilojoule laser pulses from OMEGA EP.
