Evanescent Cultivation of Cyanobacteria for Bioenergy

Abstract

A novel approach to cultivating cyanobacteria is presented. This approach utilizes near-field evanescent waves on the surface of waveguides to stimulate the thylakoid membranes of cyanobacteria directly adjacent to the surface of the waveguide.
