Abstract
We show that in the optical spectrum of a passive harmonically mode-locked Yb fiber laser all fundamental modes oscillate with equal intensity. This is possible when the spectral phase follows a quadratic distribution and it is favored over suppression of modes, which we attribute to the inhomogeneously broadened gain.
