Integration of rare earth ions and photonic resonators for quantum application

Abstract

Using ion implantation, on-chip photonic fabrication and heterogeneous integration, we demonstrate a solid-state interface between rare earth ions and telecomm photons in various designs. The platforms enable study of collective and coherent light-atom interactions on chip.
