Abstract

A multimode fiber methane sensor with polymer-metal organic framework coated cladding is presented. By altering the polymer refractive index through MOF induced methane absorption in various methane concentration, different fiber transmitted power was detected. A low detection limit of 1% (v/v) methane is realized and the detailed mechanism is also analyzed.
