Sub-500 fs pulses from a hybrid architecture for high energy lasers

Abstract

An hybrid architecture for high energy laser is presented, based on Yb:CaF2 regenerative amplifier and Yb:YAG thin-disk multipass amplifier at room temperature delivering pulses 74 mJ with a 450 fs duration at 100 Hz.
