Optical Pulling Force in Periodic Backward-wave Waveguides

Abstract

We use periodic waveguide to achieve single-mode backward-wave that supports long-range optical pulling forces. We explore the ambiguity of backward-waves in the periodic system and eliminate aliased backward-waves that only generates pushing forces.
