Tailoring Thermal Emission with Epsilon-Near-Zero Media Augmented with Dielectric Rods

Abstract

We theoretically investigate the thermal emission capabilities of epsilon-near-zero (ENZ) bodies containing dielectric rods. Effective enlargement of the wavelength at the ENZ frequency empowers directive and reconfigurable emission patterns, as well as geometry-invariant spectral features.
