Actively-tunable plasmonic metasurfaces using a phase-change material

Abstract

We demonstrate active tuning of the absorption resonance of a plasmonic metasurface by integrating VO2, a phase change material. Thermal switching of the resonance yields shifts close to the metasurface’s linewidth.
