Abstract

We assess the feasibility of enhancing the field-of-view of an infrared image up-converter by means of a thermal gradient in a PPLN crystal. We found a qualitative increase in both wavelength and angular tolerances which lead to the reduction of the sensitivity to illumination wavelength deviations and to the increase of the up-converted area.
