Abstract

We describe the challenges of transitioning Cr and Fe-doped Zn-chalcogenide technology to real-world products enabling access to 1.9-6 μm range with up to 70% efficiency, 140W of CW output power, and short-pulse (<30 fs) multi-Watt (7W) oscillation.
