Non-universal Correlations in Complex Electromagnetic Fields

Abstract

Advanced sensing requires a careful examination of fluctuating fields caused by light-matter interaction. We review basic concepts related to non-universal properties of coherence and polarization and their relation to the microscopic structure of heterogeneous media.
