Reversing the transition from an unbroken to a broken phase in a PT-symmetric dimer laser

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate that in the presence of gain and loss, the order in which the PT-symmetry breaking occurs can be reversed in a semiconductor coupled micro-cavity laser system as a result of nonlinear interactions.
