Ultrafast X-Ray Probe of Dynamics in Chromium

Abstract

We apply ultrafast soft X-ray (SXR) magnetic spectroscopy to reveal the competition between different spin states in photoexcited antiferromagnetic (AFM) chromium (Cr) metal in a broad temperature range above the spin flip transition.
