Observation of Turing and Faraday instabilities in a bistable passive resonator

Abstract

We experimentally study the occurrence of instabilities in a dispersion oscillating fiber ring cavity. This dispersion profile allows the interplay between the well-known Turing and Faraday instabilities, dramatically affecting the dynamics of the system.
