Highly Efficient Modulation of THz Metamaterials Using Graphene Surface Plasmons

Abstract

We introduce hybrid metamaterials consisting of split ring resonators and a graphene nanoribbon array. Electrostatic control of the graphene plasmon resonance provides dynamic control of the transmission of THz radiation with modulation depth of ~50%.
