Nonlinear silicon photonics and the moment method

Abstract

We develop a moment method theory for nonlinear propagation in silicon waveguides. Expressions for pulse parameters, free-carrier blueshift and acceleration are derived. We apply this to propagation in silicon photonic crystal waveguides and nanowires.
