Optical Nanofibers as Light-Matter Interfaces for Quantum Networks

Abstract

We report the single-photon-level storage of light tightly guided in an optical nanofiber. Our setup is based on electromagnetically induced transparency for atoms interacting with the evanescent field surrounding the nanofiber.
