Measurement of Transversal Polarization Forces on Excitons in GaAs Quantum Wells

Abstract

We observe resonant optical tweezing of quantum-well excitons created by an excitation pulse. The ultrafast dynamics of a small excitation spot show that the tweezing is due to the first-order polarization induced by the pump.
