Terahertz-Field-Induced Second Harmonic Generation Through Pockels Effect in Gallium Phosphide Crystal

Abstract

We report the second harmonic generation of a near-infrared pulse in a Gallium Phosphide crystal through the Pockels effect induced by an intense terahertz pulse. This demonstrates cascading second-order nonlinear phenomena in the terahertz range.
