Fluorescent Scanning Near-Field Probe Maps the Radiative and Non-Radiative Local Density of Optical States at the Nanometer Scale

Abstract

We present a novel approach for mapping the radiative and non-radiative local density of states in the near-field of a nanostructure by using a fluorescent near-field probe. Experiments are in quantitative agreement with numerical simulations.
