Towards Single Molecule Infrared Vibrational Spectroscopy and Dynamics

Abstract

We demonstrate ultrafast infrared vibrational free-induction decay probing in scattering-scanning near-field microscopy. We observe long-lived few picosecond vibrational coherences, far in excess of the far-field ensemble response.
