Quantum Electron-Hole Droplets in GaAs Quantum Wells

Abstract

We present evidence from transient-absorption spectra for quantum electron-hole droplets in GaAs quantum wells. Quantum droplets have a two-particle correlation function characteristic of a liquid, but, unlike macroscopic droplets, have quantized binding energy.
