The Role of Plasmonic Current Loops in Nanosphere Extinction Spectra: Theory and Experiment

Abstract

We derive the linear and nonlinear changes to a sphere’s refractive index addressing polarization-dependent magneto-optic effects, which manifest with plasmonic current loops. The experimentally-measured extinction spectra are in good agreement with our corresponding analytical results.
