Bright soliton and shock waves in an exciton polariton condensate

Abstract

We demonstrate for the first time the generation of shock waves and standing bright soliton in an exciton polariton condensate resonantly created in a semiconductor microcavity, showing few ps rise time and 20ps persistence after 100fs excitation.
