Asymmetric MQW Semiconductor Optical Amplifier for Next-Generation Optical Access Networks

Abstract

A broadband and low polarization sensitive MQW SOA with an asymmetric structure is reported for operation in E-band wavelength range. A peak gain of 13.5dBm for >50nm bandwidth and polarization sensitivity of 0.5dB are measured.
