Abstract
The formation of optical waveguides with femtosecond laser pulses becomes highly challenging for deep focussing depth in glass materials as surface aberration dramatically elongates the depth of focus (DOF) (Fig. 1a). In many applications, aberration correction (AC) [1,2] is limited as nonlinear Kerr and plasma effects play out together with multi-pulse accumulation effects to redirect beam propagation and dissipation and preclude tightly focussed processing deeply inside of transparent material.
