Abstract

THz spectroscopy has gained traction as analytical technique due to availability of bright, compact, broadband and coherent sources based on photoconductive antennas and compact femtosecond lasers. The main limitation of this technique remains the strong absorption by water in this spectral region. Some of the solutions to circumvent this problem has been using very thins samples [1], flash frozen samples [2] and measurements in reflection [3]. In this paper we describe the first measurements of a custom built self-referencing time domain THz ellipsometer.
