Abstract
Mode-locked vertical-external-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VECSELs) are an emerging class of ultrafast lasers capable of emitting pulses in the fs-time scale and kW peak output powers [1]. Based on well-established III-V semiconductor technology, they constitute a promising driving source for frequency combs in the GHz range and multi-photon imaging.
